The Impact of Academia–Industry Collaboration on Quality Of Training in the Ghanaian Textiles Institutions of Higher Learning

Abstract

Studies have shown that a gap exists between the quality of graduates and the demands of industry. Consequently, training institutions and employers have accepted the need to bridge the gap in the form of attachments, internships, seminars, workshops and industrial visits. However, there are challenges that impede effective academia-industry collaboration. This study qualitatively employs content analysis and multiple case study methods to assess the extent of collaboration between the textile industry and academia.
