Strategic Leadership under Uncertain and Turbulent Economic Environments in Developing Countries: Perceptions of Senior Public Sector Leaders in Zimbabwe

Abstract

The politically-driven compulsory acquisition of land by the Zimbabwean government in the year 2000 precipitated widespread economic implosion hastened by the imposition of economic sanctions by the Western world and severance of debt relief and financial support by international financial institutions. This study explores the perceptions of senior public sector managers on the strategic leadership practices and processes adopted subsequent to the economic meltdown.
