Sports Development in Tamale College of Education-Northern Region: Facilities and Equipments as a Predictor

Abstract

The study examined predictor of sports development (facilities and equipment) in Tamale College of education. The main research instrument used was closed ended and opened ended Likert type questionnaire, which was validated. The data was analyzed using simple statistical frequency counts and percentages. The study adopted the descriptive survey research design and a convenient sampling technique. The finding was that; facilities/equipment did significantly predict sports development. The findings also revealed that 88 out of 210 respondents, representing 41.9% agree that facilities/equipment’s have an influence on training. On the other hand, 122 out of 210 respondents, representing 58.1% strongly agree to the question of whether facilities and equipment’s influence training. Facilities and Equipment’s as a predictor of sports development, the field data revealed the following statistics; 38% of (210) responded that they agree, 53% of (210) also responded that they strongly agree, 6% disagree and 3% strongly disagree to the statement.
