Perspectives on Managing the Oil Find Revenue in Ghana: The Case of Takoradi

Abstract

The paper attempts to explore people choices of areas to spend and save the oil find revenue and counter the challenges of resource curse. The study specifically found out how the revenue should be spent and saved. It also sought to identify challenges associated with oil revenue management and means of sustaining the revenue. The research adopted qualitative method and draws upon the case of Takoradi. Thirty natives of Takoradi were purposively chosen. Responses were elicited through semi-structured interview guide.
