Abstract

Crossover design is an experimental design in which each subject receives allocation of different treatment sequences one at a time at different period for studying differences between treatments.

It has been applied in several fields such as clinical trials, pharmaceutical investigations. A new construction method for Balanced Incomplete Sequence Crossover Design which is universally optimal is developed in this paper. A new algorithm was introduced for design construction. From the designs constructed, each treatment precedes each other treatment k-1 times with equal replication for all treatments and number of times of occurrence of pair of treatment are the same which made designs to be universally optimal. Also two subclasses were used to verify the design optimality. It shows that construction method algorithm can generate any prime number of treatment that satisfies primitive root(element) x=2 and x=3.
