The nexus between Sustainable Leadership and Poverty Reduction

Abstract

This paper is aimed at discussing Sustainable Leadership and Poverty Reduction and creates a relationship between sustainable leadership and poverty reduction. A critical element that has been missing in the discussions about Ghana’s development and the eradication of poverty in Ghana has been the role of sustainable leadership. What role can sustainable leadership play in taking out more Ghanaians from poverty? This paper focuses on sustainable leadership in Ghana. It argues that Sustainable Leadership is central to a country’s progress at reducing poverty. The paper further examines sustainable leadership and good governance examples with Botswana as a country and Thomas Sankara of Burkina Faso as a leader. The paper finally makes recommendations to promote Sustainable Leadership in Ghana.
