Abstract

The study was carried out at the Zvishavane prison in Zvishavane. It is about 200 meters from the Zvishavane CBD, near the Mandava bus stop. It focused on the factors that cause young male offenders to re-offend, investigated recidivism among young male offenders, and discussed some of the recidivism issues in Zimbabwe. The participants in the study were young male offenders incarcerated at Zvishavane prison. Non-probability sampling was used in the study. At Zvishavane Prison, information was gathered using purposeful sampling. Data for the study was gathered through interviews. The interviews were held in both Shona and English. The grounded theory method was used by the researcher to analyze data.
