Factors That Influence Students for Admissions into Colleges of Education in Ghana: A Case Study of Tamale College of Education

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out reasons why students /factors that influence students to choose to attend the college of education to pursue the Diploma programme in Basic Education. Two hundred students in the college were selected through stratified sampling. Descriptive statistics was used for the analysis of data collected. The key finding that emerged in this study show that the major factor that attracts students to enroll in the colleges of Education to pursue the Diploma in Basic Education was job security.
