Abstract
The methodology of the study was the use of survey to sample the opinions of forty employees of the institution Tamale Technical University. The findings of the study revealed that the key factors that help attract potential employees are recognition, the institution’s vision and mission, sponsorship package and the desire to teach and impact knowledge on students. On the influence of the HR Practices of Tamale Technical University on the decision of the employees to continue with their jobs, it revealed that most of the HR practices of the institution have no influence on employees’ retention with the exception of the institution’s job security and the absence of favoritism with respect to employee recruitment.
