Didactics of translation and assessment: a case study of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi

Abstract

Not many studies have been done in the didactics of translation on experimental and case studies. In this paper, the findings of a study conducted in didactics and translation assessment will be presented. Data was collected from students learning French/English translation in the Department of Modern Languages at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. Two questionnaires with forty one variables were coded and entries made into the Statistical Package for Social Sciences. (SPSS 20.0) Then, frequency distribution tables were generated according to levels of study for two consecutive academic years, i.e. the first semester of both the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 academic years.
