Consumers’ Perception and Knowledge on the Safety of Freshly Consumed Leafy Vegetables: Evidence from Ghana.

Abstract
The present paper examines consumers’ perception and knowledge on the safety of freshly consumed leafy vegetables in Ghana. The results show that consumers perceived freshly consumed leafy vegetables as not safe coupled with high risk of consumption. Consumers are concerned with the excessive use of chemicals by farmers and mishandling of vegetables in the retail markets.
