Assessing Usage of Standard Skills Guide in Hospitality Education: Evidence from Selected Technical Universities in Ghana

Abstract

 

The study is purported to assess the usage of standard guide skills employed by hospitality providers in Technical Universities in Ghana. The study adopted quantitative method using cross-sectional survey. The population of the study comprised of teachers who handled hospitality related courses.  Primary data was gathered and used to answer the research question. Statistical Product and Service Solutions version 20 was used to analyses the data and results presented in frequency and percentage counts. Results showed that majority of hospitality teachers did not employed   standard skills guide in teaching students. The researcher recommended that policy makers should adopt policies that would compel hospitality educators to have a set of skills standard guide in tertiary education for students to acquire in order to meet both local and international standards, as pertained in the developed world.
